One of the most beautiful national parks in Canada, Banff National Park is a small piece of the sky. With high mountains, live wildlife, beautiful sites, beautiful mountains, and a lovely little village, there is something for everyone here. Check out my seven reasons why you should visit Banff National Park this year! (Or… at least, add Banff to your bucket list!)
If you have never heard of Banff National Park, I am here to tell you that it should definitely be on your list of places to go.
It’s incredibly amazing. Seriously.
There is no other place in the world like this famous Canadian national park.
Located in Alberta, Canada, Banff National Park is close to other beautiful parks like Jasper National Park and Yoho National Park, but I have to say – Banff stole my heart while I was there.
I even visited Jasper, which is a short distance north of Banff, and I must say, it did not light up Banff National Park (given that it is very difficult… I mean, WHOA, just look at those pictures below!)
Undoubtedly, Banff National Park is the dream of nature lover…. (Or a photographer’s dream. Or a dream of a gym. Or just a dream-like place for anyone who loves beautiful places.)
There is so much to do – and look forward to it. The winding roads, the majestic creatures that inhabit the area, and the mountains!
Ah man, now I want to go back. In fact, I need to go back!
Anyone, you have a great reason to be here, right? Is Banff National Park worth a visit? And what makes this place so popular with travelers?
Check out my list of top reasons to travel to Banff National Park next year and you will find out why.
REASONS WHY YOU NEED TO VISIT A BANFF PARK NATIONAL
1. Morine Lake
The magnificent Lake Moraine … is one of the best things you can do in Banff (and one of the most popular – prepare guests!).
This was true, indeed, 100% my favorite part of my trip.
Moraine Lake looks less famous than the nearby Lake Louise lake, but I think Lake Moraine is more beautiful. And it’s usually not too crowded, either. (At the right times, that means. Like very early in the morning before the tourist buses get there – more on that below).
Although it was a very nice weather for my first visit, this place was still fun.
If you are visiting Banff National Park, Moraine Lake needs to be at the top of your Banff Bucket list. I mean, just look at those mountains – and those blue waters!
I arrived in Moraine Lake early in the morning, at about 8:30 am and it was not very crowded. Tourist buses started arriving very quickly after my arrival though.
I would recommend getting here as soon as possible. I have heard the sunrise here is a very good thing.
2. Petyo Lake
Recommend Peyto Lake, one of the most beautiful lakes here (and one of the top reasons to visit Banff National Park).
This place is almost as scary as the Moraine Lake. I mean, just look at that color – and it’s shaped like a wolf! Do you see it? Very good!
If you are in a national park, I would definitely hit this lake, as it is one of Banff’s best places.
Peyto Lake is located north of Moraine Lake and Lake Louise, about 20 minutes by car heading to Jasper National Park.
Keep a close eye on the road or don’t miss the left-hand opportunity to go to the car park, as the sign is a bit of a hassle!
Pssst, while these are good reasons to visit Banff, if you are already convinced, check out some of the below-mentioned things to do at Banff!
3. Wildlife
A beautiful moose feeds on the side of the road in Banff National Park!
The wildlife in Banff National Park and its environs is amazing. Just look at that lil ’gal!
I was very lucky to see him, as he was my first animal to see the day. Just as my friend and I were driving along a winding road towards Lake Moraine, I saw him on the side of the road!
I was so happy that I got right out of my seat. Although I come from a place in the United States where deer watching is not uncommon, I had never seen it in real life, so I was very happy.

4. Lake Louise
Tourists take a ferry across beautiful Lake Louise – one of the most popular activities in Banff, Canada.
Lake Louise is perhaps the most famous and well-known lake in Banff National Park. And it’s not hard to see why – it’s absolutely amazing.
The cold blue color, the high mountains, the boats that go across the water like a mirror… and then there is a beautiful cupboard on the left side of the pool that will make you depressed.
There is nothing wrong with this place! And I can’t even imagine what it would look like without the floating low clouds blocking out the view of the beautiful mountains.
There is definitely something to watch and admire when you visit Banff National Park!

5.Elk (!!!)
A beautiful elk bull shows off his big balls and cools off the falling snow.
All right, all right.
I know I’ve already included wildlife in the category above but the elk deserves its reason. Seriously, I spent about two hours watching and appreciating these beautiful, beautiful animals.
After talking to a local person that I wanted to see an elk sometime while visiting Banff National Park, he suggested I look at the Banff Springs Golf Course.
So, the next day, I went out to the golf course to see if I could get an idea for a certain elbow…
And my god, once.
After driving for a few minutes during that study, I could not see anything, let alone a wild one…
